Highlights
By employing Wilson’s evidence-based instructional models, school districts, reading centers, and tutors can build a powerful literacy action plan or sustainability plan that builds a solid foundation for beginning learners, closes the reading gap for struggling students, teaches students with dyslexia how to read and write, and meets your state’s rigorous college- and career-ready standards.
While the programs are designed to work together synergistically to provide instruction across all three tiers of a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) or RTI framework, each program can also be used on its own to meet the specific needs of your students.
A prevention and early intervention program to help reduce reading and spelling failure. Teachers in K-3 classrooms incorporate multisensory lessons that benefit all students in the regular classroom. The explicit and systematic teaching of essential skills is also highly effective when intervening early with those in need of additional support.
A word-level intervention program that is designed for struggling adolescent and adult readers. Teachers systematically and explicitly present the study of word structure through the six syllable types in English at an accelerated pace. Just Words is designed for students in grades 4-12 and adults with gaps in their phonics knowledge.
An intensive intervention program developed for students and adults with a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia. When delivered with fidelity, and when combined with the Wilson certification process, instructors have a powerful diagnostic and comprehensive program to successfully teach students and adults with moderate to severe reading disabilities.
The program provides extended reading passages to give students the focused practice to help increase fluency and comprehension. It corresponds to Steps 1-3 of the Wilson Reading System, and is also a supplement to Fundations, Just Words, and other programs focusing on closed syllables.
